The coat that never stops
A Poodle does not shed. The hair grows, and grows, and everything the dog loses stays in the coat. That is why the breed is genuinely low allergen and also why it is the least forgiving coat in the salon: skip a few weeks and the dead hair felts into the living hair, right down at skin level where you cannot see it.
The upside is that a Poodle in a proper schedule is one of the most rewarding dogs to groom. The coat holds a shape beautifully, and the results last.
Clips we cut
Puppy clip
Even length over the body with a rounded, scissored face. Practical, tidy and the easiest to maintain. The most requested clip here.
Teddy bear
Softer and rounder than a traditional Poodle outline, with a full muzzle. Popular with owners who want the coat without the show look.
Lamb clip
Shorter body with the legs left fuller. Keeps the Poodle proportions while cutting maintenance down.
Short and practical
An even short cut for active dogs, senior dogs or owners who would rather brush for two minutes than twenty. There is no shame in it.
Toy, miniature and standard
All three are welcome. Size changes the time in the salon and the price, not the technique. What changes more is age: senior Poodles get to sit, get more breaks, and we prioritise a comfortable dog over a perfect outline every time.
What is included
- Line brushing to the skin before anything else
- Bath, conditioner and a full blow-dry, which straightens the coat so it can be cut evenly
- Clipper work plus scissor finishing on the face, feet and tail
- Ears cleaned and plucked if needed
- Sanitary areas and pads trimmed
- Nails, with dremel finishing on request
- The clip you asked for, or an honest conversation if the coat cannot hold it
- A maintenance plan for the next four weeks
Ears are not optional with this breed
Poodles grow hair inside the ear canal and have drop ears that hold moisture, which is close to a perfect recipe for ear infections. We clean and check the ears every visit and remove hair when it is needed. If we see redness, discharge or a smell, we tell you and point you to your vet rather than treating it ourselves.

Frequently asked questions
How often does a Poodle need grooming?
Every four to six weeks, and four is safer if you keep the coat longer. Poodles do not shed, so everything the coat loses stays in it. Brushing to the skin two or three times a week between visits is what keeps the interval workable.
Do you groom toy and standard Poodles?
All three sizes, toy, miniature and standard. Size changes the appointment length and the price, not the technique. Tell us the weight when you book.
Which clip should I choose?
The puppy clip is the most practical and the most requested. Teddy bear is softer and rounder. Lamb clip keeps fuller legs with a shorter body. If you are not sure, bring a photo of what you like and we will tell you honestly whether your dog's coat can hold it.
Why do Poodles get so many ear infections?
Hair grows inside the ear canal and the drop ear holds moisture in, so the canal stays warm and damp. Regular cleaning and hair removal at each groom reduces it a lot. If there is already redness, discharge or a smell, that is a vet visit, not a grooming one.
