Cat grooming is a different job, not a smaller one
Most salons in Greater Lowell will take your dog and quietly decline your cat. Cats do not tolerate the same handling, the same dryers or the same pace, and a groomer who treats a cat like a small dog will get a frightened animal and a bad haircut. No sedation, and we say so up front
We do not sedate cats and we do not use restraint that fights the animal. That has a consequence and we would rather be honest about it: some cats need two shorter visits instead of one long one, and occasionally a very matted cat needs a veterinary groom under supervision. We will tell you that instead of forcing the appointment.

Cats that stopped grooming themselves
Older or overweight cats often cannot reach their back and hips any more. That shows up as a greasy back, dandruff and mats along the spine, and it is the most common reason a cat comes to us.
Heavy shedders
A proper de-shed with a bath and dry removes far more loose hair than brushing at home, which means fewer hairballs and less hair on your furniture.
Cats who need nails done
If nails are the only problem, book a quick nail trim visit. It is short, and it saves your sofa and your cat's paws.

Frequently asked questions
Do you really groom cats, or only dogs?
We really groom cats, and it is one of our specialties. Cat baths, de-matting, de-shedding, nail trims and hygiene trims are all regular services here, done in a quiet space away from dogs.
Do you sedate cats for grooming?
No. We never sedate. We work in short sections with breaks, and if a cat has had enough we stop and tell you what was completed. Sedation is a veterinary decision, not a grooming one.
My cat is matted. Can it be brushed out?
It depends how tight the mats are. Loose tangles brush out. Mats that sit flat against the skin cannot be brushed without hurting the cat, and the safe answer is to clip that area short and let it grow back healthy. We show you the areas and explain before doing anything.
How often does a cat need professional grooming?
Short haired cats do well with a bath and de-shed every two to three months. Long haired cats, seniors and overweight cats usually need every six to eight weeks, because they cannot keep up with their own coat.
Do I need to bring my cat in a carrier?
Yes, please. A carrier is safer in the car and in the salon doorway, and cats settle much faster when they arrive in their own space rather than in someone's arms.
